Cannon Fort (Cat Ba Island)
Cannon Fort was built on the Island in 1942 for defensive purposes. It is just 2 kilometres from Cat Ba Town. Inevitably, defensive positions have great views and you will not be disappointed by the views you get from the Fort over Lan Ha Bay. They are especially impressive at sunset.
Hospital Cave (Cat Ba Island)
There are a number of caves on the Island and how many you decide to visit, you should look at Hospital Cave which was indeed a hospital and a hide out during the Vietnam War.
Cat Ba National Park
Cat Ba National Park occupies the eastern part of the Island, both land and sea. There is a watch tower worth a visit if the path is dry though it is no longer in good condition and climbing is prohibited. However, the views are great anyway. If you are really lucky, you may see the endangered Cat Ba (golden-tailed) langur of which there are only about 60 surviving today.
Viet Hai fishing village
Fishing village is a great experience, especially if you are just beginning your holiday and have yet to meet locals. You will do so here, people living as generations have before them. The people are poor but their lives are rich. With increasing tourist numbers, there will be more money coming.
Cat Ba Monkey Island
Monkey Island gets its name because of the monkey population. It is near to Cat Ba and easily accessible by boat. The common species is the long-tailed macaque which is not indigenous and was taken there to appeal to tourists. You should be careful because these macaques are used to being fed.
Lan Ha Bay and Cat Ba Island
Lan Ha is quite similar to this world heritage site as it is also fringed by rock mountains as well as emerging islets. From the deck of the boat, you can realize those islets are formed in unique shapes which inspire the locals to name them, such as Hon Guoc (Shoe-shaped islet), Turtle-shaped islet, etc.). Another suggestion for you to get full experience of the trip to Lan Ha Bay is to go kayaking whereby you can move through narrow waterways to miraculous karstic caves hidden behind the rock mountains.
Cat ba beach
In Cat Ba has hundreds of large and small beach , but clusters Cat Co beaches (Cat Co 1 , 2 , 3) is where a lot of tourists to the most by the rich natural landscape. Cat Co 1 beach is wide and beautiful, lying around under the mountain, surf year round, fresh air and clear waters, is where a lot of tourists to rest and shower. Cat Co beach 2 has a little serenity and mystery. Cat Co 3 beach bear quite modern colors.
Cat Ba Town
Cat Ba Town is the main settlement on the island with around 8,000 inhabitants or on boats moored in Cai Beo bay, about 2 km away from the town itself. It features 3 beaches and a parade of restaurants and hotels along the sea front
