Bac Ninh (Bắc Ninh) is a province of Vietnam, located in the Red River Delta of the northern part of the country. It is the smallest province of Vietnam and is situated to the east of the nation's capital, Hanoi, and borders Bắc Giang Province, Hưng Yên Province, Hải Dương Province and Hanoi. The province's name literally means "northern serenity". The province is rich in culture and is known nationally for Quan họ folk music. Quan họ was recognized as an Intangible Cultural Heritage by the UNESCO in 2009.

Bac Ninh used to be an ancient town, a trade centre of Vietnam from 2nd to 10th century. Buddhism penetrates into there early and flourished on Ly dynasty.Bac Ninh has tangible and intangible culture heritage. Many pagodas and temples were built such as Phat Tich, Dau, But Thap pagodas, Dinh Bang Communal House, Do Temple.

Area: 822.7 sq. km.

Population: 1,154.7 thousand habitants (2015).

Capital: Bac Ninh City.

Town: Tu Son.
