1. HAI PHONG MUSEUM

There are four museums in Hai Phong City, among those museum, Hai Phong city Museum is considered the biggest one where exhibits the foundation and development of Hai Phong city, historical and cultural artifacts as well as modern socio-economic archievement

Beside Hai Phong Museum, the Navy Museum feature the establistment, development of the Navy Force of Vietnam.


2. CHO SAT (Iron Market)

The market was built in the late 19th century, under the French colonial time. Its materials were mainly steel to be erected on a concrete ground with a water tower, and "Iron Market" was so called. It is located on the T junction of Cam and Tam Bac rivers and the Hai Phong City's largest market. It used to be the busiest shopping center of An Bien area.


3. HAI PHONG POST OFFICE

In 1875, the French had founded Hai Phong and Quy Nhon Post-office bureau, after opening the similar foundation in Sai Gon, Ha Noi. The first nation stamps of square shape with eagle decoration of every size and type was published in 1864.

In that days the date of letter delivery and receipt used to be seriously carried out. In front of Hai Phong post office, the tri-coloured flags (French flag) in day time and lights at night were hanged on the days letters were sent. When receiving letters the blue flags bordered with red was hanged in Hai Phong's Post office, while it was flags bordered with blue in Central of the country Post offices. Five minutes after being checked, letters were given to postmen. Hai phong-Ha Noi inter-provincial telephone was officially set up in 19th April 1906.


4. LAP RIVER - TAM BAC LAKE

Belonging to the former An Bien Commune, the lake is currently located in the center of the City. In 1885, the French colonialists widened and straightened Liem Khe rivulet in An Bien commune to 2,800m long, 74m wide and 7m deep to create a boundary canal separating Western community from Vietnamese community, Tam Bac River to Cam river were connected.

The volume of soil excavation reached 1,760,000m3 so it was called puddle Bonnal. The old name is Bonnal Canal.


5. FLOWER SHOPS

Flower shops in the city center were built in late 1941 by Luciani - the city's Mayor who was responsible for designing and the Chief of Civil -Gochie for designing fine arts. Each flower shop is supported by 4 round wooden pillars and has a curved roof made of corbicula-shaped tiles harmoniously combining the Western and Eastern architecture styles.

They are considered as the harmony among scenery of urban architectures. Each shop is 20m2 large, about 4m high and 6m distance from each other. All shops are located on an area of 300m2. Recently, a new road has been built at the back of the shops making the scenery more beautiful and convenient for sellers and buyers. Hai Phong Flower Shops have been the inspiration of painters, photographers for their art works of the city.


6. WATER PUPPET PERFORMANCE

Puppet-showroom in Nhan Hoa (Vinh Bao district) is erected at the middle of village's pond with bamboo screen in the front. Artists with poles for controlling the puppet soaking themselves in the water. These puppets are made of wood, oil-painted and have no real clothes. This oil-painting colour of the puppets once adjacent with the lithe water, under the light of fireworks, big fire-cracker, and sky-rocket sparkle becomes more and more glistening blending with water, and fire...
