Hung Kings’ temple festival

Hung Kings’ temple festival at Hung King’s temple -Nha Trang city.

Hung Kings’ temple festival associated with the legend of Lac Long Quan and Au Co of Vietnamese ancestor. The festival is annual held formally on the 10th of the third lunar month at Hung Kings’ temple, also known as Hung Vuong king’s Temple (located in Ngo Gia Tu Street, Nha Trang city) by the ceremony of giving incense, offering flowers solemnly, respectful with the participation of the provincial leaders, the departments, unions, religious representatives, numerous people and the pupils in the province.

The rites are solemn and unique to express good and noble tradition of people “When drinking water, think of its source”, “when eating fruits, remember who plants the tree”, “birds have nests, men have stock”.


Cau Ngu festival

A part rite of Cau Ngu festival in Khanh Hoa

Cau ngu Festival is a synthetic element of traditional art forms, folk performances, folk games, creating a multicolored and vivid picture of sea festivals, to be created, passed and preserved in many centuries by Khanh Hoa people. On December 27th 2012, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued the Decision No 5079/QD-BVHTTDL on announcement the list of intangible cultural heritage.

Accordingly, 33 intangible cultural heritages have been recognized as intangible cultural heritages of the nation following the provisions of the Law on Cultural Heritage, including “Cau ngu” Festival of Khanh Hoa province.


Am Chua festival

Am Chua Festival (Dien Khanh, Khanh Hoa)

It is about 50km from Nha Trang in the north, Ninh Hoa district, in the Van Phong bay area - one of the most beautiful bays formed from several small islands and a peninsula Doc Let beach - a place in natural wonderfully natural populations.

According to legend, Am Chua is the place the goddess Thien Y A Na descended on earth. She was the one who taught the people how to farming, weaving, giving presents... bring peaceful sufficient life to the people. To commemorate her merits and pray for good weather, good harvests ... people have built the temple, organize the annual festival (from 1st to 3rd of the third lunar month), called Thien Y A Na Festival or Am Chua Festival.
